About Shideh Shaygan
Born in Tehran and educated in Stockholm and London, Shideh Shaygan set up her first studio in Stockholm in 1994 and have subsequently also operated her studio from London for 10 years and Hong Kong for 5 years. Since 2016 the studio is based in the Swedish mountain resort Åre.
Her clients have over the years been both private and commercial and the projects span from restaurants and hotels to residential apartments and houses as well as exhibition design, realised in Sweden, United Kingdom, Switzerland, Holland, France and Hong Kong. After the move to Åre Valley, the studio has had a focus on sustainable architecture rooted in this beautiful mountain region of Sweden, its glorious nature, radical climate and long traditions.
Shaygan Arkitektkontor can perhaps be best characterised by its “inside-out” approach, where the layout and the physical experience of the interior spaces always are in focus. Every space designed by Shaygan enhances the client’s expectations functionally, aesthetically and culturally, without ever compromising the exterior or the respect for the landscape.
