Casa Fontana, Lugano

On the site of a former house from the 1940’s high up on Monte Bre in Lugano, this 600 sq.m. villa, with its swimming pool, guest house and garage was created with Shaygan Arkitektkontor as lead architects in collaboration with the British firm Stanton Williams. Natural materials were used, such as travertine from Tivoli, for internal and external spaces, rorschacher from Lake Konstanz for dry stone garden walls, quarzite from Vals inside the swimming pool and the water fall.  Internal joineries and fittings were made in European oak. The entire kitchen was custom made in Stainless steel and furniture were sourced mainly from Italy and Scandinavia.
